Interested in adding an ActiveRain logo to your Outlook 2007 signature line but not sure how? Want to let folks know you blog & where to go to find it with just a click?
Adding the ActiveRain logo is easier than you thought, AR supplies the HTML, you just have to add it in!
Here's a not so quick tutorial that goes over it.
*Please note, I use Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 and Windows Vista.

First, grab the HTML from ActiveRain's site. Here's how you do that:
When logged into AR, go to "My Home" on the bottom left hand side you will see "Link to Active Rain":

This will take you to five different AR logos w/HTML code next to it. Pick the logo you want to use, and copy the HTML:

NEXT, you need to open up Notepad (text only editor) and paste the HTML in Notepad. Then save your new Notepad document on your desktop, when you save make sure you "save as type" and switch it to "All files" vs. leaving it in text.

NEXT, right click on your NotePad document you just saved to the desktop and Open with Microsoft Word:

So, you've copied the HTML, pasted it in NotePad then closed NotePad and re-opened that document in Microsoft Word.
Opening it with Microsoft Word turns it into what looks like an actual website & should open up your AR logo (after messing with it a bunch of times it started saving it directly into what looked like a website for me so don't be surprised if this happens right away, look for it on your desktop or in recent items).

Now you can either select all or copy the logo.
Now the fun part! Adding your logo to Outlook!
Go to your Microsoft Outlook & pick tools from the menu bar and then options this will pop up your options box where you will pick Mail Format from the top menu bar and then Signatures from the bottom right.

This will bring up a new signature box where you can pick NEW or an existing one.
Give it a new name, then click ok. Click on the body of the Signature line, Right click and there will be your new AR logo!

Next, click Ok, then close your Outlook and re-open! Viola! The next time you go to compose a new email it will have your AR logo in the body of your email. This makes it EASY for folks to click on and view your blog!
Thanks to Ron Spanton for asking this question of me today and giving me the opportunity to share it with others who might find it useful.

Thanks for the information, I think it's a great idea to put the link on your e-mail signature
Kristin,
Great post! Thank you for the information. Everyone is making a spider web over the net. Love it!
Wow that is a lot of work for this post. Thank you if this does not get featured I do not know what will. Thank you for your time on this.
Kristin, Thanks for a very thorough example from start to finish. Very helpful!
Kristin -
Thanks!
This is a bit complicated, but a great idea!
BTW . . . I know you have visited and commented on our AR Blog several times, but couldn't find you through My Blog Log - only your first name appeared for some reason, and it didn't connect to your AR profile.
Glad we connected - thanks for your past visits and comments!
If you're ever up in Chicago, I'll treat you to a piece of Pan Pizza and a Cold Old Style Beer (or a Coke!)
Also, will be traveling to Austin in August for KW Mega Camp - might make a side trip to San Antonio - love your city! Will keep you posted, perhaps you can show us around a bit!
Happy Holidays!

Very, very cool Kristin, with great illustration. I did this on the web site but the email idea is special too.
Kristen, Holy moly ! It seems a little complicated... would this same methodology work in yahoo mail too ? I have been wanting to add other logos here and there... Im catching on slowly but surely. How do you get those screen shots in your blog ? Your blog entries are becoming quite cutting edge !
Thanks for taking the time to write this. Very informative!
Hi Alan - I do also. Gives folks something different than just a link.
Hi Tony - Without a doubt! It's amazing what has transpired in the last couple of months with AR, F/B, twitter, etc. I know it's been around longer than a couple of months but I missed the first bus :).
Unusualcommercialloans.com - Why thank you! I started to write it out for a fellow AR'er and then figured i'd just put it in a post. Trouble with me is, if someone asks "HOW?!" I don't want to say "I don't know..." I have to try and figure it out first.
Thomas - Thank you sir. I hope some find it helpful! I love my new logo in my email.
Dean & Dean - You are on! My sister and I were in Chicago (end of September, beginning of October) for the STARPOWER conference. Star Power was fantastic, have you been? We ate @ Geno's, that was some good pizza. We couldn't eat it all. I would love a pizza and a beer w/ya'll.
Hi Gary - Thank you! It's really easy also!
Chris & Stephanie - Was that a compliment? ;). Yes, it should work in Yahoo, GMAIL, etc. as long as you have a spot to make your own signature it should work. I use www.SnagIt.com for $50 bucks it's a major steal and so easy to use (30 days free!). Only issue w/it is I couldn't find it in Best Buy or anywhere else, just online so I had to purchase one for my home computer and one for work so I could "snag it" wherever I might be. Makes life easier.
Raquel - Thanks! I hope you find it easy to figure out. KM
Thanks for sharing this information. It may be a good option to have the AR link attached.
Holy Moly! You kidding me? When did you learn all this technology? You are light years ahead of me. I would just like my photo on my email signature...any ideas on how to do that? You are so good with the graphics and the arrows too. I am humbled.
uhh.....way too complicated for me....
whew...am i glad your my partner...
you can hook me up tomorrow. sista!
Thanks for the tips, Lady Bug!
John - I hope so. I think it is a good idea.
Cristal - Awww, shucks. :). Enjoyed our chat tonight. Hope we can all get together in March @ RE/MAX convention, that would be spectacular.
Sheila - :0. Ok! I'm on it!
Mel - You are welcome! Good luck on your xmas cards! KM
Oh Girlfriend...you are so smart! I bookmarked this so I can play with it tomorrow. ~GBU~
Great info! Thanks for taking the time to write and illustrate it. I'd have never figured it out on my own.
Kristin - great tutorial for adding the logo to your emails! A lot went into this post and I know that it was VERY helpful to some!
Thanks Kristin. Had added the my blog url to my email signature, but adding the AR logo spices it up a bit too. Nice idea and tutorial.
Kristin, WOW, what a great job. A few steps to go through, but it is well worth it. Thanks again for your effort.
Hi Elizabeth - Thank you! It seems long but it's really easy.
Lissa - You are welcome. Thanks for reading.
Leesa - That's what I was hoping for...Thank you.
Michael - Yes, that's what I thought for a bit of a change. Thanks for stopping by.
Kristin...
Wow, you must have spent hours on the tutorial. Great job. I don't know if you know it or not, but this post made the ActiveRain newsletter!
Thanks for the detailed explanation! You really created a step by step tutorial and I appreciate the efforts! Project for today! Great post.
Great explanation!
i was wondering if you could explain how your Remax header is on your AR site. How do we put our website header on our AR site? Thanks.
Kristin, I saw that this was featured in the AR newsletter and I really appreciate these tutorials because I am one of those s l o w learners that has to be taught step by step how to do these things! Thanks and BTW your desktop looks as wild and crowded as our assistants!
I use a link but not this html link....I like it better and will put this on my things to do list, thanks!
Thanks so much, I am still learning my way around Vista and Outlook 2007. It was easier in outlook 2003 where we had the advanced editor, IMO. I will play with this today and follow your fantastic tutorial to get it set up.
I just THOUGHT I was a genius. I am now reluctantly handing my genius pants to you...darn it Kristin.
HI Scott - Thanks for the compliment and for stopping by, it really is easy, check it out.
RW - Thanks for pointing that out, my BB deleted it for some reason so thanks for re-sending it too!
Hi Dorie - THank you! I was trying to think of how I need directions with something unfamiliar. THanks!
Hi Lynn - I will send you an email on that today with an explanation for you.
Russell - Thanks! I know! I cleaned it up a tad since then (yesterday ;0) but it still needs some sprucing up.
Debra - Great! Good luck with it, glad you liked the idea.
Hi Missy - THanks Missy. I know, we go and learn something and then they switch it up on us! I always freak out at first thinking i liked the old way better but then the new stuff grows on me. Good luck!
CC - ;0. Awwww, shucks M'lady. THanks. KM
Kristin - Wow you put a lot of time into this! Thank you for your efforts I am going to give it a try on my Yahoo signature.
Great idea! Thanks for taking the time to provide such complete instructions.
Kristin - I tried this (step by step) and it didn't work for me. Thx anyway.
Thanks for the tip Kristin. Though I'm not a big fan of including graphics in everyday e-mail.
You are so techy, KM. Thanks for the awesome tutorial on setting this up. ~SP
Hi Sonya - Let me know how it turns out?
Bruce & mary - You are very welcome
Donne - Tell me what came out of it? Maybe i can help you?
Gabe - You are welcome.
SP - Hardly! You are welcome. Thanks for stopping by!
Kristin - when I pasted it into notepad, I never got the ar logo that you indicated that I would get. I opened and closed it but just kept getting the code.
Why does it have to be so complicated????? A simple copy and paste would work for me. Who can tell me how to add it to gmail?
Kristin - Dale posted the Blog Along tonight for us - we were having trouble with the upload. At the end of the first quarter Hornets 12 - Spurs 11. Stop by if you can. Posted in the TX Groups.
Ceil stopped by your office on her way home this afternoon. Both of you busy ladies were on the phone. She goes right by your office when she shops at the mall so will try again sometime.
I've bookmarked this to try adding at the office on Outlook. I guess I could just copy it to my laptop to add in webmail when not on my desktop.
Hi Kristin! You've done a wonderful tutorial here--I too use Vista and Outlook and have my AR signature in an EmailIdeas format and LOVE it! Congrats on Brad's newsletter feature--well deserved!
Good Evening Kristin! Thank you for sharing this step by step info with us. I have it bookmarked for future use. I have so much to learn! Hope you have a wonderful Holiday. =)
Thanks for this tutorial, Kristin. I had never thought of adding the AR link to my signature!
There sure are an awful lot of instructions here. Thank goodness I can bookmark this and come back for a reference. Take care.
Another project to put on the To-Do list.
Thanks, That was very helpful even with my 2008 outlook.
Great info, this was something I have been thinking about doing for awhile. This might provide me with enough motivation to do it.
Thanks!
