My very good friend Leti and her husband Kyle invited Trevor and I out for an early birthday celebration. We decided on P.F. Chang's at La Cantera.
P.F. Chang's is one of my favorite restaurants. I love the atmosphere, the food & the location.
We started out with Calamari & Peking dumplings (filled with ground pork and vegetables) and from there each had individual dishes. I am predictable as I always go with the crispy honey shrimp as does Leti. They are just so good & there are always some left over for lunch the next day. The men had mongolian beef & spicy chicken. P.F. Chang's is very different than other chinese restaurants. There seems to be bigger portions & just better food. Of course along with that is pricier items but I feel it's well worth it. After our meals we moved onto dessert.
P.F. Chang's has a new dessert menu that includes the very small dessert dishes that are just a couple of bites that really hit the spot. They call them mini desserts there are 8 to choose from:
Banana Split, Strawberry Cheesecake, Apple Pie, Smores, Tres Leche Lemon Dream, Carrot Cake, Mini Great Wall of Chocolate and Tiramisu. YUM. I went for the Tiramisu & Leti had the Mini Great Wall of Chocolate. Just a couple of bites, delicious & filling!
San Antonio, Texas has two P.F. Chang's locations. One at 255 E. Basse Road and their newest location 15900 La Cantera in the La Cantera shopping mall (right by Nordstrom's).

Kristin - P.F. Chang's sounds like a great restaurant. My family really likes Chinese food. I think I'd like those mini desserts... :)
They just opened one of these in Myrtle Beach. I really need to go check it out!
Once again you are speaking my language! I love PF Changs for the lettuce wraps and orange beef. The spicy sauce is out of this word! If we lived any closer together I would probably be one chunky monkey.
Tiramisu is my favorite. Sounds like you had a great birthday celebration. And now I'm hungry for Chinese food. We don't have a P.F. Changs near by, but I MUST have Chinese food for dinner.
PF Changs is awesome my girlfriend loves the lettuce wraps. Thanks for sharing about the dessert menu I haven't been there in quite a while .. now I'm going to have to make a trip soon.
Debi - The mini desserts were a spectacular marketing plan whomever thought it up. I have to say when they bring those puppies in my face it's hard to say no because you feel like you aren't having that much!!
Jeremy - Yea! Give cooking a break & try it out!
Mel - Love the lettuce wraps also! Without a doubt.
Tammy - :) sorry! think of me when you eat it?
Jason - Spectacular idea! Thanks for stopping by!
Kristin - I love Chang's... The Kung Pao Chicken is awesome, my favorite Chinese Food - No Doubt.
Howdy Kristin
There are a few Chinese Restaurants up in these parts. But not as good sounden as P.F. Chang's does.
P.S. the next blog along's will be this Tue., Wed., and Friday.
Hope you can make it.
Kristin,
P.F Chang's is a great restaurant. I agree with Jason's girlfrien, the lettuce wraps are awesome!
I was at P.F. Changs when I was in Arizona - cool, trendy place and great food!
A friend invited us there last night. My wife's comment? "I can go down the street and pay $5 for good chinese food, why would I spend a ton there?" We've never eaten in one, although I know a lot of people rave about them. Maybe some day.
Kristin!
This is where we take to boys to celebrate pretty much everything! In fact, we will be going there before the R&R Marathon this Sat for a load of carbs. I agree - cool atomosphere, love to trap our kids in the big cozy booths! And really love those little deserts! Just the right amount of sugar after eating a big bowl of noodles!
Take care - Michelle & Scott
