While in Chicago (I know, I know, I'm sick of talking about it too!) we caught the musical Wicked.
I have one word for you EXCEPTIONAL, you will not be dissapointed, it is money WELL spent. In fact I would have paid twice what we paid for this spectacular show.
I am a huge Wizard of Oz fan so Wicked was right up my alley.
Wicked tells the story of Elphaba, the future Wicked witch of the West and how she meets & eventually becomes friends with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. The entire story is what happened PRIOR to Dorothy being on the scene.
Wicked is well written with great costumes and many references to The Wizard of Oz. It is hilarious & seious & tells a great tale of the history of Oz prior to Dorothy. I actually walked out of the theatre feeling sorry for the Wicked witch of the West.
Wicked is playing at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago, IL. it's a tad long at about 3 hours but so worth every minute of it.

Kristin - You know, I've heard of "Wicked", but I never knew what it was about. Thanks for clearing that up! :)
With all of these posts about Chicago recently "you" are going to end up costing me money! LOL Makes me want to fly up there ..... have been there, but it was a long time ago. Chicago is such a fun place!
I think you and your sister had way too much fun in Chicago. Nah... you can never have too much fun.
Kristen,
We saw this in Philadelphia - we both loved it ! Was an awesome event. When we saw it, the actress who played the Green Witch was ill and so we witnessed the back-up who was superb. Glad you enjoyed it as well - A lot of fun and a great story and twist to Oz ! We need to get back to the theater more often ! ~ Chris
Hi Debi - Me neither! And had I known it was about The Wizard of Oz I would have tried to see it before I did.
Hi Rick - tellmeaboutit! We spent waaaaayyyyy tooo much money. We were livin' la vida loca. But it was fun.
SP - I might be done w/my Chicago posts! Now i'm back to normal! Yes, it was way too much fun.
C&S- No kidding! I couldn't leave without a wicked t-shirt & jacket. Everything was soooo cute I wanted to remember it.
Oh my gosh! I was lucky enough to see it when it first came out in New York. I was on a trip there with my girlfriend and we were lucky enough to get tickets! It was so great, glad you got to catch it!
We have the 'Dallas Summer Musicals' here. I have been getting season tickets for years but missed the past two. Everyone I know that has seen Wicked has very good things to say about it. I am going to check it out when it comes back.
Cristal - AHHHHHH NY! Now that is the place to see a musical. Get all bundled up in your jackets & take off to a show. That sounds like fun! Girls days in NY!
Mel - Definitely! Well worth it all!
Whether you see this wonderful play in New York, Los Angeles or anywhere else, you will understand why wicked has been Broadway’s best-selling show for the past two years. Wicked tix in USA can be expensive and difficult to find. I’ve attended it last year, but before booking tickets , I compared them firstly for free at Ticketsreview.com, and then I took the cheapest tickets.
