My sister Sheila and I had lunch today at Piatti's Ristorante & Bar in the quarry off 281 on Basse Road. Right around the corner from shopping galore you can stop in for a bite to eat.
We were on a mission to have lunch so shopping was not in the cards, we had food on the mind.
What a delicious environment, meal & experience. Piatti's has lunch, dinner, dessert & a wine list. All of my favorite things!
We started with the yummy bread & caesar salad. The caesar salad has romaine hearts, pecorino romano, herbed croutons & garlic anchovy dressing. Next we had the POLLO AL FARNO which sounds fancy schmancy & is! Pollo is chicken in spanish, it was delicious, tender, herb roasted pollo. The chicken was matched with mashed potatoes & a wood oven carrot. I don't usually care for carrots but this one was good. I say one because it's one long carrot. Must have been the butter it was sitting in that made it sooooo good.
We were there from 11:30 to 1PM and the place was packed. Looked like friends meeting, business meetings & just socializing in general.
Piattii's has an indoor bar that looks like fun after hours & outside dining (maybe when it's cooler in SA?).
The prices are reasonable and the food is spectacular. If you feel guilty for what you eat you can walk around the quarry after-wards & shop from store to store.
We would definitely recommend Piatti's Ristorante & Bar as well as return again!

Sounds like a great place ... whenever I can get some time off, San Antonio is on the list. I want to come down there and spend a few days to see some things. Being geographically inexperienced in Texas, I have been limited to the Dallas/Fort Worth area .... other than a one time weekend trip to Austin.
This looks like a YUMMY place to eat! Too bad it is soooooooooooooo far away. The NEXT time I'm in the area...we'll have to go have lunch there. I've been to Texas twice this year...but I have not made it to San Antonio yet. I LOVE TEXAS! GBU!
That sounds so good! Yummy. Thanks for posting. I will check it out when I come for a visit.
Hi Rick!- Sounds good! I am geographically inexperienced in all cities EXCEPT SA so we are in the same boat it seems. KM

K- You forgot to mention why we were there? And I love the picture of the lonely guy at the bar drinking his 12th martini DURING THE DAY !
SMS - I was saving that for a blog that didn't happen. Waaaaamp - Waaaamp. KM
281 and Basse is right there where my Partner's favorite cousin lives. I'll have to ask her if they eat there since they do like to eat out.
