Each week in Real Estate brings something new. Learning something new helps me keep on top of what's going on in my profession & helps me learn from my experiences.
So, what did I learn this week in Real Estate? Quite a few things I feel like sharing!
- There are lenders out there that don't work on commission & don't have a sense of urgency when it comes to processing your loan.
- Working with family to purchase a home can be challenging but it keeps you on your toes & let's you get to know your family members better!
- If you approach a task head on & don't look at it as daunting it won't be so hard.
- You never know who your next referral is going to come from so make sure everyone knows what you do.
- You can't force the neighbors at your listing to stop talking to potential buyers.
- If you set the alarm off at a home, the police don't always come.
And lastly
- 1099's aren't fun to prepare.
So there it is, what I learned this week....I felt it was a ton to learn & I had fun doing it...for the most part. I am glad 1099's only happen once a year and that there is still Real Estate to be bought and sold in San Antonio, Texas!
Now, what will next week bring me?

Buy a home from me, use the truck to move for free!

The police always seem to come when I set off an alarm and I will have to agree on the 1099 preparation...that has not been fun!!!
Always something new to discover!!
Haha. Wouldn't it be nice if neighbors talked buyers into moving there!
"you can't force the neighbors at your listing to stop talking to potential buyers".......but you wish you could! I have run into this on more than one occasion and have this situation with a current listing. Whenever I have a showing I keep my fingers crossed that the neighbor won't say anything inappropriate.
LOL Kristin, Sometimes when an alarm goes off at a home, the alarm isn't being monitored. And sometimes the last person who was in there... oh, never mind ;o) (I figured out why that happened!)
Kristin, got to love security systems! I shudder when I hear that beep as I open the door. Thanks for sharing your insights. "You never know who your next referral is going to come from so make sure everyone knows what you do" = GREAT advice!!
Kristin- Yes there are lenders out there that do not work on commission and the service.... is terrible.
I've been a commission only Loan Officer for YEARS. We are just as motivated as our Realtors to get the deals closed.
Taking bonus or commission out of the equation results in sloppy and slow service.
