A friend sent me an article published in USA Today about San Antonio, Texas having a recent boom in the secondary homes market. I am a tad partial to San Antonio, Texas being a native but found it exciting that we are so popular now with folks purchasing second homes.
The main reasons why San Antonio, Texas has become so popular recently is that it is the nations 7th largest city but still has that small town feel with some low Real Estate prices. One of the major appeals of San Antonio is our climate. Though many owners of second homes are refugees from cold-weather climates, San Antonio is also a popular refuge from much hotter South Texas.
Here's what the Mayor Phil Hardberger has to say in the article:
"The expression here is that San Antonio is everybody's second home, It is one of the oldest cities in the Unites States, very historic, and also an oasis of sort. Texas by and large is quite barren, but not in San Antonio, where a river runs through it."
We'll take new residents whichever way we can get them!
