Travel & Leisure magazine has released it's result's for the 2008 study for Favorite Cities.
My favorite city is right up there with the best of them!
San Antonio came in with some pretty impressive rankings. Choosing 25 top U.S. cities in 45 different categories Travel & Leisure ranked the cities from culture, nightlife, people, visitor experience, etc.
So how did San Antonio do?
This year San Antonio favored pretty well in the Numero uno spot for affordability. With the median home income around $193,0000* San Antonio has many different things to offer young families who are in need of affordable prices.
There is PLENTY to do in SA on a budget from the Riverwalk, downtown, shopping, the Alamo, Sea World and Fiesta Texas. San Antonio has tons of history, sights to see, natural parks & festivals which are all free!
For such a big city San Antonio has a strong sense of a "small town" community. There are great places to pop in and eat on almost any corner. Not surprisingly, San Antonio came in at #2 for ethnic food & cheap eats (right behind New Orleans). There are a mix of cultures catering to just about every taste & income level.
San Antonio came at #5 for vacation spots to take your next family vacation. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall there is plenty to see & do in and around San Antonio. So, pack up the family & see if you agree with Travel & Leisure & others who have visited SA.
