My top 5 restaurants in San Antonio, Texas.
San Antonio is a city with many restaurants, tastes, cultures, values & FOOD! As a San Antonio native I have tried out a MANY of the restaurants we possess in this magnificent city. Some are old timers, some are new but all are Muy Bueno!
SO, not in order for price, location or alphabetical orientation and ONLY in order of my top 5 - here we go with my countdown of top 5 restaurants in SA:
Numero cinco (5):
Fire Wok - Can someone say YUM- YUM? My favorite is the Shrimp pad thai (san peanuts). Pad thai contains scallions, bean sprouts, egg, onion, carrots & noodles. Very reasonably priced also! Kids menu AND to die for appetizers! Eat in or take it to go. It's a great last minute treat that just can't beat! With two locations in SA (1 at IH-10 & 1 at Stone Oak Parkway). Living NW or living NC SA - Fire Wok is easy to get to.

Outback Steakhouse - No vegans here! In Texas we love a good steak every once and awhile. You can get a good one at Outback. Whether it's a late night dinner with a lady friend or just drinks after work with the girls Outback is your spot. A wide variety of appetizers, salads & deserts. Who can resist? Not me. SA has a couple of Outback locations - IH10, 281 and 1604 (by Bandera).

Ruth's Chris - San Antonio did rank number 1 for affordability on Travel & Leisure's top 25 city info SO, if you are on a budget, this is not the place to go. But if you are looking for spectacular food & a romantic atmosphere, Ruth's Chris is your spot. With two locations in SA (Jones Maltsberger & downtown SA). Bring your checkbook & prepare yourself for fun & romance.

P. F. Chang's China Bistro - Now this is some great stuff. A tad pricey but it's superb. ALWAYS busy at La Cantera where I like to meet my sister Sheila we wait for a bit but it's always FUN & delicious! There's a 2nd location at The Quarry which is closer to downtown SA. The food is consistently delicious. From the lettuce wraps to the crispy honey shrimp you are guaranteed a great meal.
AND now for Number 1 (1)!!!!:
Pappasitos! - This has been my favorite restaurant for years now. Great atmosphere, pretty good prices, centrally located (1 location in SA off ih-10) & SPECTACULAR margarita's who can resist Pappasito's? I go there to meet my friends, go for dinner, get take out, etc. Pappasito's has the BEST salsa not too hot, not too mild, JUST RIGHT!! YUM, YUM! We always get the "Plato Del Mar" which is 4 JUMBO brochette-style shrimp, chicken fajitas, served with guacamole & pico de gallo & homemade tortillas.
