How to get a listing by hanging out at CVS in San Antonio, Texas!
Leads come from everywhere don't they? RE/MAX agents have leadstreet, other agent's send us leads, my dad is constantly on the look out for folks looking to buy or sell homes, handing out my cards everywhere he goes, facebook is full of people needing Real Estate and Active Rain has been a HUGE lead source for me but the latest one had me justifying the price I paid for my license plates.
I can't remember how much they were, a couple hundred bucks? Sometimes I am a tad embarassed by them, if I just want to be a gal out with my husband or out with my girlfriends, I don't want to appear too ostentatious or car salesmanish. But, anyway, my license plates pulled through for me recently!
I was at CVS on my way to the office, I frequent that place, great deals to be had & I am a gal after a great deal! So, anyway, i'm at CVS, purchased whatever deal I was getting that day & walked out the door. A cute lady walks up to me as I'm starting my car (you know how it goes, your getting in your car, starting it up & the music is REALLY loud, boy, I must have been jamming on my way to CVS) & asks if I'm a Realtor? I say "YES!" she say's "I saw your license plates", I smile, BIG. We chat a bit, I give her my card, she says she lives right down the street, I know the area, tell her I just sold a home around the corner from her, etc. etc. etc.
Fast forward 3 weeks, they call me! They are interviewing agents, am I interested, "Of course!", I was hired, they signed, it's on the market! PHEW!
So, if you don't have these schnazzy license plates & you are a Realtor, get them! It's super easy & should be on your states Department of Motor Vehicles website, If you are in Texas, just go to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles & look under "Public Servants & Other" Because, apparently, that's what we are!
That's it, my .02 for the day on how to get more leads!
Don't be an undercover agent! Be loud & proud. Well, you don't have to be loud but you can be proud!
